Zed of the Image Centre was really prompt in responding immediately to my initial tentative enquiry of some 8 months ago about upgrading a very small family photograph of my father and his four siblings from 12 July 1915. He gave me a specific estimate of costs for the upgrade with 3 hard copy enlargements. I then took the original photo to the Image Centre about 10 days ago. Zed was very welcoming. explained the process and was very positive about his ability to improve the original photo which was in very poor condition. He carried out the work promptly and the outcome of his work, three 6 x 8 inch hard copies plus the digital end result, was simply staggering.
I could hardly believe the superb quality of what Zed had produced, and it has given me a real boost in my work producing a history of the Hall family dating back to County Cavan in Ireland in the early 20th Century and beyond.
In summary, Zed was very warm and empathetic and took great care with what was essentially a very small job. However, he took real pride in improving this old photograph which had great emotional significance for our family. The end result has now been sent to Northern Ireland and a cousin in England as well as emailed to my cousin in Ottowa, Canada. I am extremely grateful for Zed's efforts and attention to small detail.
